I have found that it is very helpful to have a brief background in the principles of Analytical Psychology and an overview of the types of issues and topics address in Jungian-oriented psychotherapy.
These two books, Under Saturn's Shadow and Practical Jung: Nuts and Bolts of Jungian Psychotherapy provide a general overview of Jungian psychodynamic orientation and a helpful guide to some of the typical topics addressed in therapy. I can highly recommend them.
Both books can be found in paperback through Barnes & Noble or Amazon.
Under Saturn's Shadow is of particular interest in the exploration of masculine psychology.
Practical Jung: Nuts and Bolts of Jungian Psychotherapy is a general overview, for all readers, of Jungian concepts and theoretical principles.
